2, Summary of Topics

    1, Introduction

In the previous lesson, I have learnt about Contrast and Gestalt theory, both is the theory you should know to understand to improve your design. Simply to explain, contrast is the strong difference between two different element of design and gestalt theory is the fundamental design theory that uses eyes tendency that can improve strong impressions for viewers.

    2, Contrast

Basicaly, contrast is the strond difrrence of the any elements of the design such as shape, colours or any other design elements that creates fundamental of design.
The producing strong difference between two different elements, the strong impression and attraction can be born from the design.

    3, Figure ground

Figure ground is used as magic of the design in the design principle. Simply to explain, it's the art theory that is about two different combining silhouette as foreground and background. This method is mainly using the tendency of our eyes that tend to focus on one object at once. Basically to explain, figure ground is used to express two different shapes at once, even though it may seem similar to the contrast but it is used for representing two different object once unlike contrast that makes ipression for one object in the design.

    4, Similarity

Similarity is the collection of the same or similar elements of  design into one group. If there are some groups that are gathering together, our brain tend to see as same group. This principle is used in the UI/UX of the digital software. Most of the case it'd be much better to organize similar group of function into one group.

    5, Proximity

Proximity is the design principles that may be seem same as similarity, but unlike the principle of similarity, this principle doesn't focus on one object in the design, this principle declare that things that are close together tend to be able to be seen as more related than things separated each other. It's widely used to provide strong influence of relationship to the set of elements in the design, the good example is in the Web design, designers need to gather stronglu related information together to organize website.

    6, Closure

Closure is like a magic of design. Basically to explain, it is the design theory and our barain and eye's characteristic. To explain simply about it, this principle is using both negative and positive space and shape, when the some part of one shape come close together each other, our eyes tend to see as completed shapes from negative space.
This is because our brain tends to fill the missing area to organize vision. It can alter to say that even most of the part of object is missing, our brain is still able to recognize whole outlook by understanding pattern.

    7, Continuity

As we've already learnt, if the points are gathered together, it will becomes a line, and line has ability to represent movement of something. This principle uses this theory of design elements and our brain tendency.
Most of the case, our eyes tend to follow either straight line and curved line, therefore even the line has suddenly curved so the colour of the line suddenly change, our brain tend to judge as one straignt line or curved line.
This concept is used to attract view's attention and creating relationship between more than two design in the design production.

    8, Order

It's very similar to the balance, this is because it is basically equal expansion of the design element in symmetrical (same or similar elements existing in both side having same distance from centre of the image).
By remaining balance of distribution, the design can be much stable, why balanced design so important? This is because when the design is balanced, it's going to be easy to state the clear goal for the design and storytelling.
Each elements in the design have their own role, so designers must organize the design to manage their work to identify main purpose of the design

    1, Contrast

<iframe src="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WeJh0kBcM0tuc0UmdVjhG3W05IgaJ_Km/preview" width="640" height="480" allow="autoplay"></iframe>

I use contrast theory by making 8 copies of human shape shilhouette in the 3×3 squares, but then I import one artist-look character to make attention to the center of my design.

    2, Principle of Design

In this artwork, I used "order" and "continuously" to make my design much attractive. First of all, I spread the simplified bicycle images from bottom right to the upper left so that there can be balanced and views can naturally understand it's a race.
I also used continuously by using bicycle images to express that bicycle moving from left to right. By using continuously principle, movement can be designed without using lines to express.
