1, Introduction

In these week, we had a second project to make an 3D polygon to create a character from a references we choose, during the class, we've learnt about the connecting vertex of joined object automatically like a magnet joining together. Unlike the theme based scene modelling, I think the quality itself quite went well. There are a lot of effort and Idea used by myself to improve my work and even I also focused on the quality of texture so it does looks natural.
In the end, the odeling of character is natural and no distortion of polygon although I only used primary texture.

2, Process

The process itself has been started from finding out the references to make a model by my own, however I can't fing any good image of the character "Doraemon" to use as references in the project, therefore I was required to start from making a model of Doraemon.


The general visual itself doesn't change so much however, when I check the priginal image of draemon, the shape of the leg was bit different to the original , therefore I changed the shape of tghe leg a bit so it looks more original.
As I already mentioned the most effort I used was connecting vertex point to form an object from two or more joined object, to make a connecting object, I was sometimes required to change the object sid, usually I set the number of the object such as cylinder or other similar object around 16 because of difficullty of edit and the visual outlook, however when I tried to connecting vertexes, I was required to change the number of the side depends on the characteristics of polygons I edit.
The foot part is the one of the part where I struggle most, I need to make a cube polygon, then I need to use subdivision surface, then I resize the object, after than I needed to delete some of the face of the polygon and make a new face from left vertex, these process leads the process to connect the legs and foot, as the resul, the legs and foot connects naturally and there was no dissertation. I also use similar steps to create a natural sgape of mouth of Doraemon, the shape itself was going crazy a bit so some of the polygon has been missing sometimes, therefore I needed to rearrange the structure and form of face of polygon so the polygon and faces are formed naturally.

3, Conclusion

To sum up the processes I've done, the effort and the ideas I used was successfully achieved to make a 3D model of character that looks so natural and no collapse, or distortion at all, this was the goal for me to create a model without the distortion o I am so happy to create this character model so much, the effort was also used successfuly and I also used the techniques that I've learnt so the quality of work also gets better than first time, the point that I should improve is the texture issue, because of the time issue and requirement, I did not use the texture process at all, however I am not able to handle the texture process so the model looks so natural, II think my next step for modelling is the texture process to apply to the object so the objects are looking so natural.
