In this week's module, we've learnt about the fundamental ideas about animations again. The animation itself is basically as same as 2D animations, the speed of animations can be defined by frames takes and distance of object's movement. In our modules, we used blender to create an animation .
2, Analysis
At the first time of the project, I decided to begin my creation from analysing all behaviour of the object's bouncing depends on various balls, I had to create 4 different balls bouncing from high position. I watched all 4 bouncing animations from Youtube to find out all different movement of balls I made animations of, then I tried to find out unique points of each ball's bouncings and I visualise it for references.
After observation of ball bouncing behavior's, I moved to the real creation, I download the 3D blender model and I created the animation by placing the ball object in the place where ball either reaches the tops of each bound or land on the ground, the effort I used in this project is the height and horizontal distance each bounce make should be shorter and smaller than previous bounce's height and distance, because every ball's bounces are always smaller and shorter than last bounce. Additionally, movement of balls is always increase its speed just before the ball lands on the ground, then its bounce height decrease when they reach top of the each bounce. These effort is used to make the animation much more realistic. There are similar effort and techniques used when I applied rotation into animation, similar to the change of bounce, I also thought the rotation of balls should lose its energy to rotate body itself so it decrease the degree to rotate, so I tried to calculate natural degree to rotation of the different balls every time it bounce, the interesting point, similar t the bouncing height, the rotation of the object when it bounce may also be seemed to be changed depends on material, I also tried to express that part in the movie.
After I designed the bouncing animation, I finally completed each bouncing animations.
When I finished to create all four different bouncing animations, Finally I made a YouTube video to combine all of then to summarize all my effort done.
3, Summary
The quality of ball bouncing itself was not bad, however, the some bouncing itself has bit weird path of the movement, although I tried my best to look natural, the movement itself become bit unlialistic evem the whole look itself resembles different types of bounce. I want to try to add the movemnt after ball bouncing, I tried to include some action after bounce, but it ended up with like an unfinished work, therefore I want to include more action after one movement that remains small force to move.
When Mr Kamal saw my animation, the animaion was not looked realistic, the ball seems to suddenly stop at the top of each bouncing, therefore I must adjust the movement of bouncing so the ball won't stop at the top of movement.
