In this week's module, we've learnt about rigs that create various pose for characters in blender. Rig itseLf in blender is like a puppet, which is controled by devices made by wodden rod and strings to control body to express feelings, to move each part of body. There are various sections that can transport and rotate body to create various pose for characters. In this module, we had to research different emotional pose and create various emotional pose based on investigation of emotional expressions. To achieve the goal for this project, I have to analyse every characteristics for emotional pose.
2, Research and Analyse
To complete this project, I started from finding references from internet, then I need to analyse the pose to find out the way how each emotions are expressed. After brief research about emotional expression, I moved to the process to analyse the impressive pose that may express each feelings much efficiently. In this project, I had to create 4 different poses, Happy, sad, angry and scared.
1, Happiness
I started to analyse from "Happy emotion", I started to research from Freepik to get a good image reference. The references and ideas I've got from research is then going to be used to sketch some dfart works for real work, then I worked on blender to create a real work.
To start with happy emotional pose, I realised that happy pose tends to make body to face upwards. The body itself gets more energy to expand the body itself around and the body makes curving above and backwards to show its happiness.

After some adjustment, my final work for joy finished as shown below, most of the case, the references of happy emotional pose tends to jump, therefore I also made it to jump to show its happiness.
2, Saddness
The sad emotional pose is totally opposite to the happy pose. Unlike happy pose, the sad emotion tends to shrink the body and face it to the ground, the refered images have many sitting pose white looking ground. The Body itself also curved downwards, so I decided to go with sitting and facing downwards.
After provide several polygon to show the things the character is sitting, my sad pose has been done.
3, Anger
The general pose itself for anger emotion is looked like a fighting pose. Similar to the happy pose, the body itself tends to lean and curve forward, however, to express anger without using the facial expression, I needed to make body much more aggressive, it can be altered to be said as ready to attack or fight.
To achieve this goal, I used the visual references from the internet. In the image I found on the internet, the angry man holds his arms so he is almost attacking to someone or something, therefore I decided to rise the arm of the character and hold his fist to make him much angry.
4, Scared
Unfortunately, I misunderstood about the emotional pose to make. I thought I was going to make "Surprised" pose, however, it was actually "Scared" pose, but luckily both scared and surprised pose's general idea itself doesn't have so much differences and I can still rearrange it to express frightened moment.
First of all, both surprised pose and scared pose are curving body backwards like flipping down, especially scared pose tends to lean body backwards so body is ready to escape soon as possible. The interesting point of both pose is hands are getting closer to the face, however there is clear differences between them, surprised pose's hands are just emphasize its feelings and I guess it is for try to focus its vision, on the other hand, scared pose's hands are trying to protecting its face.
After several observations, the final pose for scared emotion has been made.

3, Summary
Analysis of emotional pose itself was gone well and general pose to express feelings were also going great, however, because of struggle of hand shaping, sad and happy pose doesn't going well as I expected. The body itself was aslo looks so tough and I think I should edit the transportation of each body parts much more to create dramatic pose.
