1, Introduction

We had a task that complete motion graphic work to create a channel bumper using motion graphic effect that learnt in class or study individually. The process of making was started the techniques of motion graphic, the I get much deeper to find ot any good ideas for my logo animation to create my own channel bumper. In this project, I decided to create my own youtube channel bumper (but in the end, it's just feel like an opening for me.).

2, Test making and Self Research

I firstyly decided to research about the technique before moving on real creation, this is because I thought that understanding things that can be done by after effect editing may inspire me for any good ideas, additionally, I hadn't used the After effect while after last term I used for college project, therefor I needed to understand again the techniques for after effect animation.

The work above shown is the practise work of the upper animation to understand the technique I've learnt on Youtube. In this video, I used the technique of shape spread and line animation both to features my own animation. In this project, I mainly used trim path, the reason for it is because if I used multiple technique at one time, the work get distorted, and the shape spload, which is about an animation effect that spload shaped live water dropping wave.

I started to look through the logo animation works to get inspired for my work in pinterest. I mainly researched by typing "logo animation" because it contains well-created motion graphics animation. Through my research on Pinterest, I found some interested in the logo animation of Samsung, which animates its text in the path of the text stroke. I decided to make a similar animation but including any other unique effect by my own.

The video shown above is the video that inspired me to add the effect in my logo animation, it is basically the animation about animated line that uses empty (No fill) line animation with trim path, which can animate line of object t make it move like drawing line or growing up like a tree or any plants, I added 2 colourful lines around my text and I also added one blue line that goes front my main while line stroke, I added this line is just for fun to see blue line that goes front of main line that may emphasize text itself which is also decorated by animated yellow and red lines. The reason why I used these three colour is because I wanted to make a logo animation for my Youtube channel.

Actually, I have my own Youtube channel, and I sometimes post videos to explain about studying international school and life or place to visit in Malaysia (even though it is just one of the plan and not posted yet), I like original opening animation, but I wanted to add some cinematic animation like movie studio intro for my future video because I want to make some longer video in my Youtube, therefore I decided to create some cinematic logo animation for my Youtube channel like movie studio intro animation. I based on Warner Home Video intro because this is my favourite intro.

The logo animation at that time was about text drawing animation guided by blue line and red and yellow lines are following around, however, to make my animation cinematic and epic, I decided to add blue sky time lapse behind as background, The animation itself was actually planned to include Malaysian traditional house and Malaysian traditional kite, but because of time lapse angle and the impression of animation itself, that idea was rejected.

During the process of making background, I faced some problem that has to be fixed. The background is about time lapse of sky and it is formed by white and blue, because of the colour balance issues, the blue colour in text animation is OK, however, the main white text is going to be distorted with white colour in the background, therefore to avoid distortion of the logo animation, I decided to add black outlines to emphasize main text.

I added more adjustment and background after inserting blue sky background, then my logo animation is finally completed. To sum up the work that I have done, I'm so satisfied that I made quite good quality of motion graphic work based on my favourite work found on Internet, I am also happy that trim path work also went well, the point that I should improve for next is trying another expression technique that I didn't use in this project such as Shape splode. I also try to use pen tool wisely to create much better handwriting text animation.
